A project to completely modernise a protected historic house transforming internal spaces while restoring the historic elements of the existing building.
Built in the late 19th century by Edward Baring, Lord Revelstoke, as a luncheon pavilion midway along the driveway around his estate. It was designed by the celebrated Arts & Crafts architect, George Devey.
Owned by the National Trust and highly protected, the refurbishment of the house included significant repair of the structure, roofs and carpentry as well as internal alterations, and modernisation of all services.
The significant elements of the original design, local stonework, chimneys, bulky gateposts, glazed timber conservatory, leaded lights, flagstone paving were fully restored.
