A project to transform an outdated house into a contemporary home reinventing internal spaces, circulation, external spaces, while inserting modern design within preserved elements of the existing building.
The project opens up the house in three dimensions, completely clearing the upper floor, replacing an entire facade with glass, a new flat roof terrace and veranda. A stainless steel and glass staircase spirals through the off-center gaps in the existing structure. Modern geometries give a contemporary character to traditional materials and elements of the previous building.
